Backup & Restore

Learn how to backup and restore all your AgeMap data as a ZIP file.

What's Included

The backup file contains the following data:

• All registered people
• Groups and family relationship data
• Profile photos
• Moment records and attached photos
• App settings (notification time, reminder range, etc.)

Backup

1. Go to Settings.
2. In the Data Management section, tap Backup.
3. Choose a save location.
4. The filename is auto-generated as agemap_backup_DATE.zip.
5. A progress indicator will be shown. You'll be notified when it's complete.

Restore

1. Go to Settings.
2. In the Data Management section, tap Restore.
3. Select a previously created backup ZIP file.
4. A confirmation dialog will appear. Tap Restore to proceed.
5. The app will automatically restart after restoration is complete.

Transferring Data to a New Device

1. Run Backup on your old device.
2. Transfer the backup ZIP file via Google Drive, email, etc.
3. Install AgeMap on your new device.
4. Download the backup file to the new device and run Restore.

Important Notes

• Restoring will replace all current data with the backup file data.
• This action cannot be undone. It is recommended to backup your current data before restoring.
• Store backup files in external storage like Google Drive or email for safety against device loss.
• Backup file size may be large if you have many photos.
